SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews says he expects defender Ime Okon to move on from the club next season.
The 20-year-old centre-back came through the Matsatsantsa reserve side after signing from Randburg FC in 2022.
He has gone on to play 53 games in all competitions for the first team, scoring two goals, and recently signed a contract extension but went on trial to Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv in January and has three offers for his services.
SuperSport have endured a horrendous season in the Betway Premiership, with sacked legendary head coach Gavin Hunt leaving the club in a relegation dogfight.
SuperSport is second bottom on the league standings, but only ahead of suspended Royal AM, and a point adrift of Cape Town, and safety, with seven games to save their status.
Matthews explained that a move to Dynamo fell through at the beginning of the current campaign, but the signs are there that Okon will secure a transfer in the next window.
He told FARPost: “Yes, Kyiv is still keen on Ime, but he has rejected the move for now.
“We have interest from three other European clubs. I can’t reveal names for now. But we have agreed with Ime to pursue these options in July while we focus on our end-of-season results.
“He has, meanwhile, extended his agreement with us by a further year with a fair international buyout clause effective July 2025. We don’t anticipate Ime playing for us next season.”
