Amid speculation of a move to Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United have turned down striker Jeremy Brockie’s request to leave the club.

The New Zealand international was omitted from head coach Eric Tinkler’s squad for the MTN8 semi-final against Maritzburg United on Saturday, which ended 1-1.

This fuelled talk that he was set to sign for cross-town rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

But SuperSport came out on Sunday with a strong statement saying they have no intention of losing the free-scoring marksman.

“The club would like to officially confirm that Jeremy Brockie handed in a transfer request last week which the SuperSport United board has rejected. The Matsatsantsa striker will not be sold to any club at any price.”

Brockie has scored 40 domestic goals and another four on the continent since arriving at SuperSport in December 2014 and has arguably been the league’s most successful import of recent years.
