January promises thrilling CAF action as South Africa’s top clubs Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch prepare for decisive fixtures on the continental stage.
Mamelodi Sundowns continue their impressive run in the CAF Champions League, sitting comfortably at the top of Group C. The Brazilians will look to maintain their dominance when they host Al-Hilal Omdurman (Sudan) on 23 January at 20:00.
A victory would further strengthen their position as favourites to progress to the knockout stages and keep alive their dream of reclaiming the trophy they last lifted in 2016.
Domestically, Sundowns currently occupy second place on the league table and will be aiming to overtake Orlando Pirates and reclaim top spot when they face Orbit College at home on 19 January.

Meanwhile, in the CAF Confederation Cup, Kaizer Chiefs are still searching for their first win of the tournament. Currently placed third in Group D, Amakhosi will be desperate to turn their fortunes around when they take on ZESCO on 25 January at 15:00. This match is a must-win if Chiefs hope to keep their qualification hopes alive.
On the domestic front, Chiefs sit fourth in the Betway Premiership and will host Golden Arrows on 20 January just five days before their crucial CAF encounter.

Stellenbosch FC, on the other hand, have been flying high in the Confederation Cup, leading Group C. The Cape Winelands outfit will be determined to extend their impressive form and maintain their position at the top as the group stage intensifies, with a key showdown against CR Belouizdad set for 25 January.
Five days earlier, on 20 January, they resume their Betway Premiership campaign with an away fixture against Sekhukhune United as they look to pull further away from the relegation zone.
