Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns and current league leaders Kaizer Chiefs have avoided each other in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 draw.
During Monday night’s draw, Sundowns were paired against Vaal University of Technology (VUT), who stunned Golden Arrows in the previous round this past weekend.
VUT beat Steve Komphela’s men 6-5 on penalties and is one if the dark horses in the draw.
Chiefs, meanwhile, face a tricky encounter away to Highlands Park for a place in the quarter-finals.
Mbombela United, who knocked Cape Town City out, face Real Kings for a place in the last eight.
In two other fixtures pairing top-flight sides against each other, Bidvest Wits will host Chippa United while Bloemfontein Celtic take on Maritzburg United.
