Abrahams is fresh off a significant triumph, having recently lifted the CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations title with South Africa, showcasing his burgeoning talent on the continental stage.
He initially joined Stellies at the beginning of last season, making his senior debut in March during a Betway Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs. Although first-team opportunities were limited, Abrahams made a profound impact with the club’s reserve side.
His standout performances in the DStv Diski Challenge were particularly noteworthy.
Abrahams played a pivotal role for Stellenbosch, finishing the campaign with an impressive 11 goals and earning the prestigious club’s DDC Player of the Season accolade.
This individual recognition highlights his potential and goal-scoring prowess.
Stellenbosch FC has voiced its full support for Abrahams’ overseas venture, viewing the loan spell as a vital step in his career trajectory.
In an official statement, the club remarked, “The club wishes Faiz all the best during his time in Israel and will closely monitor his progress throughout the season.”
This commitment underscores Stellenbosch’s dedication to nurturing its young talent and providing pathways for growth.
In other youth development news, Stellenbosch FC also confirmed the permanent transfer of another one of their bright prospects, Tylon Smith.
Smith has made a significant switch to the United Kingdom, joining Queens Park Rangers, signaling another successful pathway for a Stellies academy graduate into international football.
