Zimbabwean forward Junior Zidonga capitalised on an early lapse to fire TS Galaxy into the lead, setting the tone for a fiercely contested battle.

Both sides then made attempts at goal but could not hit the target in a physical battle with lots of fouls and set pieces before Stellies defender Mosa Lebusa was forced make a goal line clearance in the 41st minute.

Wonderboy Makhubu almost equalized for the home side just before half time, but his attempt drew a fingertip save from the Rockets goalkeeper Ira Tape.

Gavin Hunt made a double change at half time, bringing on Thabo Moloisane and Tshegofatso Mabasa and it proved to be a master stroke as Makhubu finished neatly in the 56th minute from a Devin Titus cross to make the scores level.

The next big chance fell to TS Galaxy midfielder Mpho Mvelase but his 70th minute header went just over the crossbar as both sides searched for a winner.

In the end neither side could fashion clear chances at goal as the fouls and free-kicks persisted forcing the teams to settle for a point each.

The result sees Stellenbosch move up to ninth spot on the table, while TS Galaxy remian in eighth position.
