The PSL returns after a three week break for the Telkom Knockout and International qualifiers. Kazier Chiefs’ 100% win record faces a tough task as they travel to face second place Ajax Cape Town who have proven a tough fixture for AmaKhosi in recent times. Champions Mamelodi Sundowns will host BidVest Wits in another mouth-watering showdown. Elsewhere AmaZulu will be looking for their first win of the season when they host Chippa United.
Moroka Swallows 1/1 draw 21/10 MP Black Aces 5/2
Both sides are coming off 3-0 defeats in the Telkom Knockout. Swallows slumped to their fourth successive loss going down at Wits while Aces were thumped in Cape Town by Ajax. Prior to that Aces were in good league form, picking up eight points in four matches. However, both sides are sitting on nine points from seven games due to Swallows excellent start to the season before recently slumping. Swallows won 3-2 and 3-1 to Aces in the last two home league meetings and are tipped to turn their form around with a win here.
University of Pretoria 21/10 draw 21/10 SuperSport 12/10
Saturday provides us with a Tshwane derby as the Clever Boys host Matsatsantsa. SuperSport are in excellent form under new coach Gordon Igesund who has rejuvenated the team. The 58-year-old former Bafana Bafana mentor was installed as Matsatsantsa’s new coach in place of Cavin Johnson a month ago and has already bagged three wins in his first three games. University of Pretoria has just one win under their belt this season. They have never recorded a victory over their bigger neighbours with SuperSport winning both league meetings 1-0 last season. Back the away win.
Mamelodi Sundowns 1/1 draw 21/10 BidVest Wits 5/2
The biggest match on Saturday sees the champions who occupy third spot take on Wits who lie in fourth position. Sundowns are in excellent form winning their last four matches. Wits are unbeaten at home but have struggled away from home where they have lost two of their three travels. Sundowns won this fixture 2-1 last season and should once again prove too strong at home for the visitors.
AmaZulu 18/10 draw 21/10 Chippa United 14/10
AmaZulu remain the only team in the league who are yet to win a match but have the perfect opportunity to change that as they host newly promoted Chippa United to the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu. Chippa are coming off a 1-0 loss at Platinum Stars in the Telkom Knockout. AmaZulu should be backed for their first victory, available at a valuable 18/10.
Orlando Pirates 5/10 draw 26/10 Free State Stars 53/10
Orlando Pirates host a Free State Stars team who have never beaten them at home in 11 attempts, with Pirates winning the last three of those encounters. Pirates bounced back from a league loss to Chippa by beating Polokwane 2-1 in the Telkom Knockout. Free State Stars fell to a 1-0 loss at SuperSport in their Telkom Knockout fixture. The home win looks a sure bet at a decent 5/10.
Maritzburg 9/10 draw 22/10 Platinum Stars 28/10
Maritzburg are unbeaten at home with two wins and a draw, scoring five goals and conceding just one. Platinum Stars’ recent league form reads two losses and two draws. Maritzburg have proven a force to be reckoned with at home since Steve Komphela took over the reins last season. The Team of Choice should secure a home win.

Bloem Celtic 1/1 draw 21/10 Polokwane City 5/2
Bloem Celtic and Polokwane City will meet in a crucial fixture that will see the loser’s relegation worries heighten. They lie 14th and 15th respectively with just one win a piece, however, Celtic have lost only three times while Polokwane have suffered five defeats from their seven fixtures. Celtic are not a bad team at all but have just lacked that killer instinct in front of goal. Celtic pulled the double over Polokwane in last season’s league meetings and are a good bet at even money for the win here.
