South Africa vs Mozambique: Kick-off time, betting odds, form guide & more!

Bafana Bafana welcome Mozambique to the Peter Mokaba Stadium tonight after a goalless draw with Tanzania last Friday.

That match gave coach Hugo Broos the chance to integrate fresh talent into the senior squad, a strategy expected to continue this evening.

Form Guide

The first of the two international friendlies for Bafana Bafana didn’t quite go according to plan. The goalless stalemate against Tanzania saw both sides struggling to create clear-cut scoring opportunities in what was a rather disjointed performance. Despite the lack of goals, the match served its primary purpose for Broos: to assess a new crop of players.

This experimentation was largely due to the absence of Mamelodi Sundowns players, who are currently preparing for the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup set to kick off this weekend. It is worth noting that the Tanzanian friendly saw four players make their senior national team starts: Deano van Rooyen, Khulumani Ndamane, Simphiwe Selepe, and Tshepang Moremi. Additionally, Renaldo Leaner and Mohau Nkota came off the bench to earn their first senior caps.

Bafana Bafana’s upcoming opponents, Mozambique, present a more formidable challenge. The Mambas are actively preparing for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations campaign and have also started their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification journey on a strong note, indicating their readiness for competitive action.

How to watch

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 19:30 on Tuesday, 10 June 2025 and will be carried live on the public broadcaster’s radio stations for commentary. The match will be broadcast live on SABC 3, SABC Plus, SABC Sport digital platforms and on the Pay-TV platform, SuperSport channel 202.

Additionally, the match can be streamed on Showmax, with the build-up set to commence half an hour prior to kick off.

Peter Mokaba Stadium

The 46 000-seater stadium will host the clash between South Africa and Mozambique. The stadium is one of five new stadiums that were built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and hosted four Group matches during the tournament of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Located in Polokwane, the New Peter Mokaba Stadium helped to shine an international spotlight on the Limpopo province with its bold design and state-of-the-art facilities contributing to local tourism.

South Africa  | Draw | Mozambique

Historically, South Africa and Mozambique have met 12 times at the senior level. Bafana Bafana holds the advantage with seven victories, while Mozambique has secured three wins, and two matches have ended in draws.

With this being one of the few chances for the fringe players to break into the first team, I can’t see South Africa leaving anything to chance here.
