Somila Ntsundwana completes a move to Chippa United after serving his time as a key figure at Richards Bay.
The 28-year-old striker, who had been without a club since the end of last season, shared his emotions on social media, thanking his loved ones for their unwavering support during what he described as a challenging period in his career.
“I won’t lie, it’s been a tough few months for me,” Ntsundwana wrote on his Facebook page.
“But through the support of my friends and most especially my family, I get to be back on the pitch again and doing what I love the most – playing soccer. Welcome back, number 45. I’ve missed you. God is great.”
Ntsundwana, who is known for his tireless work rate and eye for goal, will be eager to make his mark with the Chilli Boys as they continue their Betway Premiership campaign.
His arrival provides new coach Luc Eymael with additional options in attack, as Chippa look to build consistency and move further up the league standings.
He has already made his debut for the club, playing 45 minutes in their 1-0 loss against his former side, Richards Bay, in a midweek league clash.
Having started his professional journey with the now-defunct Bidvest Wits, and spells at AmaZulu FC and Royal Eagles, Ntsundwana was one of the Key players for the Natal Rich Boys, and he developed into one of the most reliable forwards, contributing vital goals and performances that helped the club establish itself in South Africa’s top-flight.
His departure earlier left question marks over his next step, but his return now signals a fresh opportunity to revive his career.
For Ntsundwana, the move to Chippa is not just about football, but also about resilience and faith.
Fans of the Eastern Cape side will be hoping his hunger and experience translate into goals and success for the team.
The striker will be hoping to make his second appearance for the team when they host Orlando Pirates at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.
