Siwelele FC shake up backroom staff amid poor start to premiership campaign

Betway Premiership club Siwelele FC have made a surprise reshuffle of their management and coaching structure.

The club has parted ways with CEO Stan Matthews, who had remained in charge after Siwelele acquired the PSL status of SuperSport United in July.

According to several reports, Matthews’ exit was influenced by a strained relationship with head coach Lehlohonolo Seema.

In his place, Lerato Kholoanyane, a member of the Patriotic Alliance political party, has been appointed as interim CEO. Kholoanyane will oversee the club’s administrative and strategic operations while a permanent replacement is sought.

The restructuring extends to the coaching staff, with assistant coach Andre Arendse – also retained from the SuperSport era – relieved of his duties.

Former Bloemfontein Celtic and Orlando Pirates defender Willem Jackson has been appointed as Seema’s second in command, tasked with strengthening the technical team and providing support on and off the pitch.

Siwelele’s leadership shake-up comes as the club struggles in the league, currently sitting 14th in the Betway Premiership table after winning just one of their opening seven matches.

The new structure is aimed at stabilising the team and providing a clear pathway for improvement in the remainder of the season.

Chairman Le John emphasised that the club remains committed to long-term growth despite the early-season challenges.

“We believe in the vision of Coach Seema and the potential of our squad. These changes are designed to create a stronger foundation for Siwelele both on and off the field,” said Le John in a video posted by the club on X.
