Top of the Table: Ricardo Goss Shines as Siwelele Stun Sekhukhune United in PSL clash

Talks between Siwelele FC and Belgian outfit K. Beerschot V.A. for the transfer of 20-year-old attacker Siviwe Magidigidi have reached an advanced stage, according to a statement from CEO Lerato Kholoanyane.

The 20-year-old has contributed four goals for his club in the Betway Premiership this season while also impressing on the international stage at the U20 World Cup. The Belgian outfit first approached Siwelele late last year, but their initial bid was deemed insufficient given Magidigidi’s impact on the club’s maiden campaign. However, the player’s desire to test himself abroad played a key role in reigniting discussions.

“We have always believed in matching ambition with opportunity,” Kholoanyane said. “When Beerschot significantly improved their offer, the deal became acceptable and aligned with the best interests of Siwelele FC.”

While the transfer is not yet finalised, the club confirmed that negotiations are in their concluding stages. Magidigidi, who has become a fan favourite in Bloemfontein, is praised for setting high standards both on and off the pitch.

“At only 20 years old, Magidigidi’s potential is enormous. We have no doubt that Belgian defenders will soon be experiencing exactly the kind of trouble he caused across the PSL,” Kholoanyane added.

If the move goes through, Magidigidi will carry the spirit of Siwelele with him to Europe, with the club expressing pride and gratitude for his contributions.
