Sipho Mbule ‘Possibly’ on his way out of Sundowns

Former SuperSport United and Sundowns midfield maestro Sipho Mbule has been making headlines as a loan move to Sekhukhune United looks to be on the cards with Babina Noko coach Lehlohonolo Seema responding positively to reports.

It is believed that Mbule is close to joining Sekhukhune United for the duration of the season on loan after losing his place and further dropping down the pecking order at Chloorkop, however, the deal is yet to be finalized due to the player agreeing terms.

Mbule made 22 appearances in all competitions last season for the Brazilians. For a player with that much quality, surely, he deserves a lot more playing time. If this loan move materializes, Babina Noko will have a gem on their hands as he is still on his journey to reaching his prime.

Mbule is known for his dynamic and versatile playing style as a central midfielder. He has excellent vision, allowing him to make precise and creative passes that can unlock defenses. His ability to read the game and distribute the ball effectively makes him a crucial playmaker.

He possesses strong ball control and dribbling skills, enabling him to navigate through tight spaces and maintain possession under pressure. Mbule is not afraid to take shots from distance, often contributing with goals from midfield. His ability to score adds an extra dimension to his team’s attacking options.

Overall, Mbule’s blend of technical ability, vision, and physical presence makes him a well-rounded midfielder who can influence the game in multiple ways.

Sundowns coach Manqoba Mnghithi said on Tuesday that Mbule was in full training with the rest of the squad following his return from injury when asked about the 26-year-old.

Seema spoke about the move after their 1-0 win over newly promoted Magesi FC in Polokwane but could not give a definite answer, if the central midfielder will be with the Limpopo side, while admitting the possibility of adding a few more players before the transfer window closes on Friday.

“Let’s wait and see,” Seema said when speaking to the media.

“When is the window closing? The rumours on Mbule, let’s keep it as rumours like that but as long as the window is still open that’s for sure that maybe one or two players we can see”.

Seema was adamant that the reinforcements were not related to the side’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup but to the league schedule.

“The games in the Betway Premiership are already going to be on top of each other. We are going to spend two weeks here [Polokwane].

“We are playing four games here so as long as we have depth because injuries will come, loss of form and a lot of things can happen. But it is not about CAF.

“We are just trying to make sure we balance our squad so that in each and every game we can have a good team.”

Sekhukhune United will face Lunda Sul on Saturday in their second preliminary round in a bid to turn around a 1-0 deficit. Chippa United will be their next stop four days later before ending the month of September with an exciting encounter with Durban-based outfit Golden Arrows.
