South African midfielder Sihle Nduli has penned a heartfelt message to his previous club, Stellenbosch FC, following his move to Orlando Pirates.
The 29-year-old joined Stellies in July 2022 from TS Galaxy and went on to make 104 appearances across all competitions with the club, winning the Carling Knockout Cup competition in 2023 and reaching the semifinals of the CAF Confederations Cup last season.
He parted ways with the Cape Winelands team on a free transfer as his contract was set to expire at the end of June.
“I want to thank the whole Stellenbosch family for the great hospitality over the past few years,” Nduli said. “Words cannot describe how grateful I am.
“To the fans, I just want to say you guys are the best. I can’t thank you enough for the love and support you gave me on and off the field during my time with Stellenbosch FC.
“If it wasn’t for your support, we as the players would never have achieved what we have. I love you all, and you will always remain close to my heart.”
The Sea Robbers confirmed Nduli together with six other signings just two days after announcing that Sipho Mbule had joined the club.
“After weeks of speculation and countless headlines across the football social media landscape, Orlando Pirates Football Club can officially confirm the signings of Yanela Mbuthuma (from Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (Amazulu), Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka), and Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch),” said Pirates in a statement.
Pirates are set to depart for their pre-season tour to Spain from 8 to 20 July, where they are set to play four friendly matches under the leadership of former Marumo Gallants coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
