Lehlohonolo Seema says he’s working on ‘growing’ his philosophy at Golden Arrows this season.
The former Chippa United coach was appointed to replace Mandla Ncikazi, who led the side to fourth on the 2020/21 DStv Premiership standings before joining Orlando Pirates.
Seema was successful in securing Chippa’s top-flight status via the promotion/relegation play-offs.
As he reflects on the first few weeks of pre-season training, the 41-year-old told his club’s website: “What I needed to do first was to understand each player. How to best communicate with him, if he responds better individually or if he is responsive enough in a group conversation.
“My next step was to obviously assess the structural play on the field, identify where the team’s strengths are and where we can improve. I believe we have a great foundation. Of course we will be tweaking things during training before we get the Premiership season underway.
“Growing a philosophy that scoring goals wins games, scoring and being complacent is not an option, we have to push for the full 90 minutes on the field.
“I have been happy with the overall result so far and both the Technical Team and the players are happy with the structures we have put in place to build on.”
