Richards Bay coach Ronnie Gabriel says his side could easily have been in the top half of the league table.
This came after the Natal Rich Boys claimed their second consecutive victory, following a 2-0 win against Polokwane City in a Betway Premiership clash at King Zwelithini Stadium last Sunday.
“I’ve kept saying week in and week out that we were playing well, but the results weren’t coming. And for someone not watching the game, they might have thought I was just saying something to deflect focus,” said the Richards Bay coach.
“But you know, we’ve had this kind of performance against Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, the big teams. Against SuperSport United, we dropped points in the last minute.
“These are points we could have secured, and we could be up there in the top eight by now because the group is playing good football.
“They’re playing high-tempo, aggressive football, and we’re playing on the front foot.”
The win against Polokwane City has seen the Kwa-Zulu Natal based club accumulate 16 points from 17 games, putting them in 13th place on the table.
