Fear not Real Madrid fans, Cristiano Ronaldo has vowed to come back “much stronger” from the injury he suffered during Portugal’s Euro 2016 final win over France.
The three-time Ballon d’Or winner left the field in tears midway through the first half after he injured his knee during a clash with France midfielder Dimitri Payet earlier in the game.
The Portugal players, though, went on to win the match in extra time without their captain and talisman with Ronaldo doing a lot of “managing from the sidelines”.
Reports have suggested that the he is likely to miss Real Madrid’s first few games of the new season, but the 31-year-old has turned to hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help with the recovery.
Ronaldo, though, has assured fans that “all is well”
“Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank all my fans,” he said in a video posted on Instagram.
“I wanted to tell them that all is well and that I will come back much stronger.
“Thank you, long live Portugal!”
