Reports: Jamil Benouahi tipped to take over from Alexandre Lafitte at Marumo Gallants

Marumo Gallants relieved Alexandre Lafitte of first-team duties, citing “failure to comply with contractual obligations” and the team’s ongoing struggles in the league as justification for the decision.

Gallants find temselves in third last place on the league standings, and without a result in their last seven games.

According to reports in the media, Benouahi is expected to be unveiled as new Bahlabane Ba Ntwa boss until the end of the season.

“The 46-year-old UEFA Pro License holder [Benouahi] was spotted alongside Gallants Chairman Abram Sello this evening at their game against Chippa United, sparking speculation that they deal has been concluded,” say iDiski Times.

Gallants are next in action away to Golden Arrows at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on 14 March.

Benouahi is a former USM Alger, Jeddah SC and AS FAR head coach and was most recently employed by Burkinabe Premier League team Rahimo FC.
