The transfer has been in the pipeline since last week, but Liverpool have now officially announced the signing of Southampton striker Sadio Mane.
The club did not disclose the fee paid for Mane, but reports doing the rounds have suggested it will be in the region of £30million.
The 24-year-old penned a long-term contract after agreeing personal terms and successfully completing his medical on Tuesday.
“Today is a big day and I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe,” he told the club’s official website. “It’s a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history.
“Now I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and my teammates and starting the season.”
The Senegal international will be officially registered as a Liverpool player when the pre-season transfer window opens on 1 July.
Mane spent two years with Southampton, scoring 25 goals in 75 appearances and has also netted 10 times in 36 caps for his country.
