Seasoned 32-year-old forward Thabiso Kutumela is exploring a move to a club outside of South Africa after trials with local teams proved unsuccessful.
The former Richards Bay FC player, who is currently without a club, is aiming to reignite his career by joining a team competing in CAF interclub competitions.

Unsuccessful Local Trials Lead to a Shift in Strategy
After parting ways with Richards Bay FC at the end of last season, Kutumela has been actively searching for a new club.
He reportedly underwent trials with several Premier Soccer League clubs, including AmaZulu, Sekhukhune United, and newly-promoted Magesi FC.
That being said, according to a source cited by Soccer Laduma, these trials did not result in a contract.
Kutumela’s agent, Abbie Rasimphi, confirmed the change in approach, stating, “We are considering options beyond Mzansi again. Teams across the continent are being approached, especially those involved in CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup competitions.”
Continental Experience Could Be a Key Selling Point
Rasimphi believes Kutumela’s past experience in the CAF Champions League will make him an attractive prospect for ambitious African clubs.
During his time with Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City, Kutumela gained valuable experience playing against top teams on the continent.
“He has CAF Champions League experience, which aligns perfectly with the goals of many African clubs,” Rasimphi added.
This experience is a crucial factor as he and his agent search for a team that aligns with his career aspirations.
While a deal has not yet been finalized, Kutumela remains hopeful that his next move will take him abroad and provide the opportunity to get his career back on track.
