PSL News: Kaizer Chiefs Loanees Cleared to Play Against Amakhosi

Kaizer Chiefs interim co-head coach Cedric Kaze has confirmed that loanees Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane are eligible to play against Amakhosi in the upcoming PSL clash.

The pair, currently on loan at Siwelele (formerly SuperSport United) for the Betway Premiership season, will not be restricted from facing their parent club.

While some teams include clauses preventing loaned players from competing against them, Kaze clarified that Chiefs opted not to impose such conditions, prioritizing regular game-time for the duo instead.

Chiefs face the struggling newly formed Betway Premiership side at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

While Kaze’s side come into this game on the back of a goalless draw with Simba SC in the CAF Confederation Cup, Siwelele last went down 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in their Carling Knockout last 16.

Speaking ahead of their upcoming clash, Kaze said on iDiski Times: “We are monitoring their progress because we have a right on them and as coaches we need to monitor their progress to see what we want to do with them next season.

“On the contrary of other teams that loan players and they don’t allow them to play against the team, we allowed them to play because we want to see them on the field, improve, and get better for us.”

Zwane has played three times across all competitions since joining Siwelele this season while Mashiane has played once as a second-half substitute.
