PSL Kick Off: Grobler and Makgalwa Partnership a Threat to Orlando Pirates

Following a sensational debut for Sekhukhune United, veteran striker Bradley Grobler has established an exciting new partnership with teammate Keletso Makgalwa, which could pose a significant threat to Orlando Pirates in their upcoming league opener.

Grobler, a former SuperSport United star, wasted no time making his mark, scoring a brace in Sekhukhune’s thrilling 3-2 MTN8 victory over TS Galaxy.

The win was a comeback for the ages, with Sekhukhune falling behind 2-0 before Grobler, with an assist from Makgalwa, pulled one back just before halftime.

He then leveled the score in the 64th minute, setting the stage for Vusumzi Mncube to secure the win five minutes later.

Named Man of the Match, Grobler was quick to credit Makgalwa for his role. The striker revealed that the two have already set a bold target for the season. “He wants 20 assists, and I said I’ll help him,” Grobler told iDiski Times, indicating a strong understanding between the two players.

Grobler expressed his surprise at how quickly he’s settled into the team, praising the easy adaptation process and the immediate chemistry he’s found with his new teammates.

“I think there’s a few players that I’ve got a really good understanding with already and I think it’s exciting,” he explained.

This new, dynamic duo will be put to the test this weekend when Sekhukhune United lock horns with Orlando Pirates on Saturday, 9 August 2025, in the first week of league action.

Kick-off at the Orlando Stadium is scheduled for 17:30. Given their explosive start, all eyes will be on Grobler and Makgalwa to see if they can replicate their form and cause problems for the Pirates’ defense.
