PSL has officially announced the new date for the Nedbank Cup quarter-final match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United.
The two sides are now set to lock horns on 28 March 2025.
This follows the postponement of the original fixture a day before the match, due to a clash in venue bookings.
The South African Under-17 women’s team was scheduled to play a FIFA World Cup qualifier earlier at Lucas Moripe Stadium, while the Nedbank Cup tie was set to take place later in the day.
The league cited safety concerns as one of the key reasons for the postponement, prompting the need for a new date. The postponement sparked criticism over the PSL’s handling of the fixture schedule.
“The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced the updated fixture details for the postponed Nedbank Cup quarter-final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United,” read the statement from the PSL.
“The highly anticipated clash will now take place on Friday, 28 March 2025, at Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00.”
