Magesi coach Owen da Gama says the culture at the Betway Premiership club is the driving factor behind the run of improved form.
The 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship winners claimed the Carling Knockout Cup this season under Clinton Larsen but the former coach struggled with results in the league.
He was replaced by Da Gama, who has managed to steer the club into 11th place on the standings with 29 points from 25 games – six points clear of the relegation/promotion play-off places.
Magesi have won their last four games, beating Richards Bay, Golden Arrows and Stellenbosch 1-0 as well as TS Galaxy 2-1.
They are next in action at home to Sekhukhune United on Saturday 3 May.
Da Gama explained on IOL: “We may not have the most experienced or technically gifted players in the league but we have a team, a proper unit. And that has made all the difference.
“We’ve built a culture where we play for each other, we work for each other, and we support each other – on and off the field.
“That spirit is what turns a team that’s used to losing into one that wins.”
Magesi’s form saw Da Gama win the Premier Soccer League Coach of the Month award for March.
