Orlando Pirates are tied with defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on 44 points, with goal difference the only divider in a fiercely contested title race.
Pirates head into the clash with momentum after grinding out a dramatic 2-1 victory away to Polokwane City in their most recent league outing. Patrick Maswanganyi struck the winner deep into stoppage time after Bonginkosi Dlamini had cancelled out the opening goal.
The result ensured Pirates remained at the summit and took their league win tally to 14 matches this season. It also marked back-to-back league victories following defeats to Sundowns and Casric Stars in the Nedbank Cup.
Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou said maintaining the right mentality would be crucial as the race for the title intensifies.
“Every game that we are playing, it’s to win them,” said Ouaddou. “We have to keep the same spirit every game and go with the target to win every match. Only with that mentality can you maybe at the end dream about the title.”

Pirates have built their campaign on defensive solidity, conceding just eight goals in 19 league matches, while also boasting one of the division’s strongest attacks.
Richards Bay, meanwhile, arrive in Soweto ninth on the table with 23 points from 19 matches and still chasing a top-eight finish for a second successive season.
The Natal Rich Boys are fresh from a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs and will hope to build on that result. However, their away form has been inconsistent, with their last league win on the road dating back to September against Stellenbosch.
Meetings between the sides have often been tight. Pirates have won three of their six league encounters with Richards Bay, while the teams also met earlier this season in the Carling Knockout semi-finals, where the Buccaneers secured a 1-0 victory in Durban.
With the title race entering a crucial phase, Pirates know that another win at home will be vital to keeping pace with Sundowns in the battle for the championship.
