Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou on loss to Gallants: We have to analyse and come back stronger

"We have to analyse and come back stronger," says Abdeslam Ouaddou after second Orlando Pirates loss

Abdeslam Ouaddou promises that Orlando Pirates will “come back stronger” after losing 2-1 to Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday.

Patrick Maswanganyi opened the scoring at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on 16 minutes, ahead of a Daniel Msendami strike on the stroke of half-time.

Jaisen Clifford then sealed a come-from-behind win for Gallants with his late effort in the second minute of injury time at the end of the game.

It was a second successive Betway Premiership defeat for the new Bucs boss after they opened their season with a 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United.

Speaking after the game, Ouaddou explained that after starting well, his team didn’t take their chances to put the game to bed.

He said on SuperSport: “Of course, it’s not the result we expected. We came here with a lot of ambition to take the three points we lost at home.

“I can say that we started very well the game – opening the score with a lot of chances again we didn’t put in the net.

“Like I said when you don’t score you give the opportunity to finish you so it’s a bit disappointing that we start very badly and we’ll sit and think about that.”

Ouaddou added: “We are going to analyse the game and see what’s going wrong especially in the second half. We tried to make some changes.

“Unfortunately, the changes we did they didn’t give what we expect from them, their level. Ja, it’s a big disappointment but we going to sit, to analyse and to come back stronger.”

Pirates are next in action in an MTN8 semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
