"Orbit is not going anywhere, we have worked hard to promote the team for the past 15 years."- Pogiso Makhoye Dismisses Orbit College Sale Rumors

Pogiso Makhoye, head coach of newly-promoted Betway Premiership side Orbit College, has vehemently denied recent reports suggesting the club’s top-flight status is for sale.

Following their hard-earned promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship via the grueling promotion/relegation play-offs—at the expense of Cape Town City—speculation has mounted that the relegated Citizens are looking to quickly buy their way back into the Premiership, having reportedly been turned down by TS Galaxy.

That being said, Makhoye asserts that a sale would completely contradict the years of effort invested in the team.

“Why would we bring [Monnapule] Saleng on loan if we are selling the status? There’s no way,” Makhoye told Radio 2000, using the recent loan acquisition as a clear indicator of their long-term intentions.

A 15-Year Journey to the Top Flight

For Makhoye and Orbit College, promotion isn’t just about reaching the Betway Premiership; it’s the culmination of a decade and a half of dedicated work.

“Orbit is not going anywhere, we have worked hard to promote the team for the past 15 years,” he emphasized. Their journey has been driven by a clear vision: to establish a professional football team that truly represents the North West province.

Showcasing TVET Talent and Provincial Pride

Beyond provincial representation, Orbit College also aims to shine a spotlight on talent emerging from the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) sector.

“And we also wanted to show the whole country that there’s talent in the TVET sector and now that we are here, we will never sell the status and the team not going anywhere,” Makhoye declared with unwavering conviction.

This firm stance from Coach Makhoye suggests that Orbit College is fully committed to making its mark in the Betway Premiership and building on its long-term vision, rather than seeking a quick profit from their newly acquired status.
