Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has entrusted Nkosinathi Sibisi with the captain’s armband for South Africa’s two international friendly matches against Tanzania and Mozambique in the coming days.

Sibisi steps into the leadership role in the absence of regular skipper Ronwen Williams. Notably, no Mamelodi Sundowns players feature in the squad, as they will be participating in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
Broos explained that the Orlando Pirates defender is a player who is well respected amongst his peers.
The Bafana boss said on FARPost: “We had to search for a little bit. But I think with Nkosinathi Sibisi we have a good captain.
“He is an experienced player, and has been with Bafana since I have been here.
“He is somebody who has respect for everybody. So, I think he is a good player to replace Ronwen Williams.”
South Africa play Mozambique at Loftus Stadium on Tuesday, 10 June.
