TS Galaxy have once again lost two influential players, with Khulumani Ndamane joining Mamelodi Sundowns and Puso Dithejane moving to MLS side Chicago Fire. For many clubs, such departures would spell trouble, but head coach Adnan Beganovic insists the Rockets are built to withstand these setbacks.
His confidence reflects a broader pattern: Galaxy have a history of bouncing back after losing key players, and this time will be no different.
“We’ve sold Khulumani to Sundowns and we also sold Puso to Chicago Fire, but we still have a good squad full of quality. It’s still our goal to finish in the top eight, and I think we can achieve that,” Beganovic told The Sowetan. He added: “TS Galaxy was there before Khulumani and Puso and it’ll continue to be there without them.”
Beganovic explained that Galaxy had anticipated the exits and prepared replacements well in advance.
“We’ve always shown that we can replace players, so I don’t think we will decline now,” he said.
“Our model is that before we sell, we prepare a player within the squad to take over. We always have at least two quality players in each position, so if we sell, another player immediately steps up.”
This is not the first time Galaxy have faced the loss of key players. In 2024, the club saw striker Samir Nurkovic, winger Lehlohonolo Mojela, and goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari depart, yet they stabilised mid-season, remained competitive, and finished the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season in fifth place.
In 2025, Keagan Dolly and Sphiwe Mahlangu left, but Galaxy adapted quickly, promoting squad depth and tactical flexibility. Each time, the Rockets have shown an ability to rebuild, proving that no individual departure can derail their ambitions. Beganovic’s confidence today echoes that history of resilience.
While losing Ndamane and Dithejane could have unsettled TS Galaxy, Beganovic’s words highlight a club culture built on adaptability and succession planning. With replacements already stepping up and a proven track record of bouncing back after departures, Galaxy remain determined to secure a top-eight finish in the PSL.
