Polokwane City midfielder Ndamulelo Maphangule hopes to make the most of his opportunity with Bafana.

The 25-year-old was called up by South Africa boss Hugo Bross as a replacement for the injured Patrick Maswanganyi.

Bafana will play Lesotho in a World Cup qualifier at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday, and Benin will play in the Ivory Coast next week.

Maphangule said on iDsiki Times: “Firstly, I’d like to say I’m very grateful to be here. And I feel like this is something I had expected, to get an opportunity to play for Bafana Bafana.

“I think this serves as inspiration to myself and teammates at Polokwane City that it is possible.

“It’s just not Popo [Oswin Appollis] who can play at this level, that step-by-step all of us will get an opportunity.”
