Orlando Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi admits they have failed to achieve the targets set by the club this season and will wait to hear if he will be retained or not.
In their last match on Tuesday, Bucs hammered Maritzburg United 4-1 and have still have two matches to play before their league season is over.
Pirates could still potentially finish in second place on the log if results go their way and thus quality for the CAF Champions League next season.
In an interview carried by The Sowetan, Ncikazi said the season was unsuccessful as they failed to win any trophies.
“This club is about cups and winning trophies, the mandate is clear,” said Ncikazi. “We didn’t meet the mandate, so it was not a successful season. But for any other club, a smaller one, from what we have done until now, it will be regarded as a good performance.
“But for Pirates we’ve not met the objections. We know the objectives that we were given at the beginning of the season. But we didn’t meet them.
“This is not about me. It’s a question but you are asking the wrong person [when he was asked if he deserves more time]. Sometimes you’ll win the league and you are on top of the game but you’ll lose your job. So, it’s not my decision. It’s a very good question, but it’s not my decision.”
Pirates will next be in action on Friday when they travel to face Royal AM before wrapping up their campaign at SuperSport United on Monday.
