Since joining in the January window, Brayan Leon has quickly announced himself at Sundowns, netting four times.

Two of those strikes have come in the Betway Premiership, while his latest brace proved decisive in the CAF Champions League clash against MC Alger on Saturday.

The Colombian forward delivered in a crucial Group C encounter, firing Sundowns to a 2-0 victory that secured qualification for the quarterfinals. The Brazilians finished second in the group on nine points, behind Al Hilal Omdurman, who topped the standings with 11.

“I’m so happy for him,” Allende told the media.

“The adaptation is going very well. He has scored a lot of goals in five or six games, and that shows his quality. He just needs to keep going, stay healthy, and he can help us a lot.”

Sharing a South American background with Leon, Allende also expressed satisfaction with Sundowns’ progression to the knockout stages.

“It was an important win at home against a very good opponent,” he added.

“I think we deserved the qualification, and I’m very happy for the team and all the players. Now we wait for the next opponent. Winning at home, with our people, is special, and we want to keep doing that for the supporters, our families, and the club.”

Attention now shifts to the domestic front, where head coach Miguel Cardoso will prepare his side for a blockbuster league clash against Orlando Pirates.

Pirates currently top the Betway Premiership standings with 38 points, while Sundowns sit second on 32 points after 15 matches, trailing the Buccaneers by six points as the title race gathers momentum.
