Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed parting ways with seven players, including long-term servants Lebohang Maboe and Rivaldo Coetzee.
Maboe (30) joined the Brazilians from Maritzburg United in 2018 and has featured 183 times, scoring 20 goals and providing 23 assists.
He struggled for game-time last season and spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan with SuperSport United.
Coetzee (28) was a 2017 signing from Ajax Cape Town and he went on to make 133 appearances, with two goals and six assists in an injury-plagued eight years with Downs.
The club posted on social media: “After 7 memorable years, 12 trophies, 183 appearances and that unforgettable league winning hattrick – the Yellow Nation bids farewell to Lebohang Maboe.
“Masandawana wishes you nothing but success as you enter your next chapter.
“The Yellow Nation thanks Rivaldo Coetzee for eight years as a Sandawana. After winning 14 trophies in his time with the Club and making over 130 appearances, the Mamelodi Sundowns family wishes you all the best in your next chapter.”
Downs also confirmed the departures of Sanele Tshabalala, Thabang Sibanyoni, Sifiso Ngobeni, Lucas Suarez and Sipho Mbule.
