Bidvest Wits teenage striking sensation Phakamani Mahlambi says it’s unlikely he will leave for another Premiership club.
The 18-year-old made a sizable impact last season, his blistering pace, skill and finishing prowess seeing him being linked with a move to one of the big clubs in Gauteng.
There have also been reports that Portuguese giants Sporting CP and Benfica are sniffing around the player represented by renowned agent Glyn Binkin.
When asked by African Football where he sees himself playing next season, Mahlambi says it’s likely to be with the Students, although he does leave the door open for a possible overseas move.
“To be honest, I won’t play for any team in the country currently. I can say possibly after many years to come when I come [back] from Europe,” he said.
“There’s no use to leave now because I’m playing and I’m happy. Look, I’m still young and what I need is to play and enjoy my football.
“I don’t want to make things difficult for me, I don’t see myself playing for any team in the present moment other than Bidvest Wits.”
