Former Magesi FC midfielder Jacob Everson has officially joined Botswana Premier League side Jwaneng Galaxy on a two-year deal, marking a new chapter in his career after a brief stint without a club.
The 26-year-old attacker, who was released by Magesi in January 2025 due to limited playing time, was officially unveiled by his new team following a period of free agency.

Born in Soweto, Everson is known for his creative flair in the midfield, a reputation he began to build during his time with Moroka Swallows before his move to Magesi.
Jwaneng Galaxy announced the signing on their official Facebook page, expressing their excitement about the new addition.
“Jwaneng Galaxy is pleased to announce the signing of Jacob Mosoeunyana Everson,” the club wrote.
“The 26-year-old attacker joins us on a two-season deal. He previously featured for Magesi FC and Moroka Swallows.”
The club confirmed Everson will be with them for two seasons, with the hope that he will add attacking strength to their squad.
Everson’s move highlights a growing trend of South African players heading to Botswana, where clubs are increasingly looking to the Premier Soccer League for talent.
Owen Da Gama Also Heads to Botswana
In related news, former Magesi FC head coach Owen Da Gama has also made a return to the dugout in Botswana. He was recently appointed as the new head coach of Lions FC, a newly formed club that acquired the top-flight status of VTM FC.
Da Gama, who was let go by Magesi at the end of last season, brings a wealth of experience to Lions FC.
His immediate task will be to build a competitive squad capable of making a strong impression in their debut season in the Botswana Premier League.
With Da Gama at the helm, the club is expected to be a key player in the transfer market as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
