Golden Arrows coach Mabhuti Khenyeza says “small, individual mistakes” are costing his team.
Abafana Bes’thende started the 2023/24 DStv Premiership in fine form and occupied second place on the standings in the early weeks.
But they have since dropped to seventh, following a run of six straight defeats.
Arrows last went down 2-1 to Orlando Pirates on Sunday, with a 30th minute penalty from Patrick Maswanganyi and 56th minute goal from Karim Kimvuidi to cancel out Nduduzo Sibiya’s spot-kick on the stoke of half-time.
Reflecting on the loss, Khenyeza admits that they need to cut out individual errors to get back to winning ways.
The Arrows boss said in the Citizen: “I think it’s individual mistakes, not group mistakes.
“You are supposed to play a forward pass, or you play a back pass which is a negative pass which invites opposition to come, those are the individual mistakes of one person instead of playing the ball up and creating a situation but again we need to remind our players.”
Arrows are next in action against TS Galaxy at home on Saturday.
Khenyeza added: “You make a mistake, that can change the game’s complexion. I don’t point fingers at the players but we need to improve, most of the games we lose because of individual mistakes and then everything changes.”
