Former Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu midfielder Andile ‘Sguda’ Cele believes Mbulelo ‘OJ’ Mabizela is now a mature professional who should not be judged on past mistakes. Mabizela, a one-time Bafana Bafana and Pirates star, has been dogged by off-field issues throughout his career, and was released by Chippa United at the end of last season. –Full Story via Kickoff

SuperSport United defender Mor Diouf is available for selection again after making peace with coach Cavin Johnson. The pair recently exchanged heated words at training, with Diouf unhappy with his lack of game-time this season. Premier Soccer League CEO Brand de Villiers has commended Orlando Pirates’ for their spirited efforts following their loss in the CAF Champions League Final. Bucs were beaten 3-1 on aggregate by Al Ahly, losing 2-0 in Cairo on Sunday night. Al Ahly coach Mohamed Youssef says beating Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League Final yesterday was step one – now they are targeting success at the Club World Cup. The Egyptians won their eighth title after beating the Buccaneers 2-0 at the Arab Contractors Stadium yesterday for a 3-1 aggregate win. Golden Arrows coach Mark Harrison blames the referee as part of the reason for their 3-1 League loss to SuperSport United on Saturday. Arrows, who are second bottom on the table with seven points after nine games, feel hard done by because when SuperSport goalkeeper Ronwen Williams committed a professional foul outside the area on Philani Shange after ten minutes he was only shown a yellow card instead of being sent off. – Full Story via Kickoff



Mamelodi Sundowns have extended their lead at the top of the League standings after a 3-1 win at University Of Pretoria on Saturday night. Goals from Cuthbert Malajila, Khama Billiat and Rodney Ramagalela helped the Brazilians take the honours in the first Tshwane derby of the season, while Grant Kekana replied with the only goal for AmaTuks.
