Abdeslam Ouaddou has officially stepped down as head coach of Marumo Gallants, ending a short yet influential tenure in the Betway Premiership.
The Moroccan coach took the reins in March and successfully guided Gallants to safety, overseeing 12 matches in which the team secured five wins, four draws, and three losses.
His efforts helped the club finish 10th on the log—just one point short of a coveted MTN8 spot, narrowly missing out to Richards Bay in eighth.

Despite the remarkable turnaround, Ouaddou confirmed his resignation on Saturday through an emotional statement.
“I would like to announce with this press release the end of the adventure with the Marumo Gallants club,” he wrote.
“It has been a great pleasure to have collaborated with all the resources of the club. I would like to thank first of all my players, my President, as well as all the stakeholders of the club who participated from near or far in this mission to save the club, without forgetting our magnificent supporters.”
Ouaddou also paid tribute to the people of Bloemfontein, and says he is open to new opportunities.
“The people of Bloemfontein will remain in my heart forever. I wish the best to Marumo Gallants as wll as to my players. I love you guys,” sqd Ouaddou.
“I obviously remain open to any proposal for an ambitious project and determined to take on a new challenge,” he concluded.
His departure leaves Marumo Gallants searching for a new head coach ahead of the next Betway Premiership season.
