Kaizer Chiefs v AmaZulu: Kick-off time, betting odds, players to watch & more!

Still Cooking: Gallants Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou Backs Under-Fire Kaizer Chiefs Boss Nasreddine Nabi ahead of Crucial Soweto Derby

It was back to the drawing board for Nasreddine Nabi as the Kaizer Chiefs mentor tasted defeat in his first Soweto Derby in charge of Amakhosi.

His chargers will now seek redemption against an AmaZulu outfit who are looking to build on their inconsistent form.

Derby Day Defeat

Kaizer Chiefs are eager to bounce back from their disappointing 1-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby last weekend. The defeat has left Coach Nasreddine Nabi and his team frustrated, but they are determined to make amends when they host AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium this evening.

The loss to their arch-rivals has left Chiefs licking their wounds, but they are keen to put the disappointment behind them and focus on the task at hand. Coach Nabi has urged his players to forget the result and concentrate on securing three points against AmaZulu.

Chiefs will be looking to return to winning ways and will be counting on their home ground advantage to edge out AmaZulu. The match also presents an opportunity for the team to rebuild their confidence and momentum, which was disrupted by the loss to Pirates.

AmaZulu, coached by former Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane, have been inconsistent this season, with a league win coming on either side of a five goal thrashing by the hands of Stellenbosch FC. Indeed, this unpredictability makes them a tricky opponent, but Chiefs will be buoyed by their fans at the FNB Stadium – something that could give them the edge as they look to bounce back from their recent defeat.

Player Spotlight

Tashreeq Morris‘ transfer to Kaizer Chiefs came as a surprise to many and the details of the move have been revealed by SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews.

The 30-year-old former Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town City and Sekhukhune United striker had joined SuperSport on a free transfer just four months prior and scored twice in ten appearances. However, when Chiefs came knocking, Matthews explained that Morris presented SuperSport management with an offer they couldn’t match.

Now the lanky forward is poised to make his Kaizer Chiefs debut and will be licking his lips at a leaky Amazulu defense which has kept just a single clean sheet across their previous five fixtures (across all competitions).

 How to watch

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 19:30 on Tuesday, 04 February and will be carried live on the public broadcaster’s radio stations for commentary. The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport channel 202 and can also be streamed on Showmax.

Kaizer Chiefs 21/20 | Draw 43/20 | AmaZulu 28/10

I think Nabi will get the job done against an inconsistent AmaZulu outfit. Back Amakhosi on the win and over 2.5 goals at  3/1.
