The duo were handed the reins at Amakhosi following management changes early in the 2025/26 season.
While they were expected to stabilise the team and keep them competitive, their future at Naturena remains uncertain, with the club confirming that discussions around their roles will only take place once the season concludes.
Chiefs’ campaign has been a difficult one, marked by early exits from both the Carling Knockout and the Nedbank Cup, as well as a disappointing group-stage finish in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they ended third in Group D.
“I believe they must just finish the season; the league is almost over. They’ve lost all the trophies to play for, and there is absolutely nothing left to fight for now,” Rapatsa told FARPost.
Rapatsa added that even if Chiefs decide to appoint a new coach, it must be part of a long-term plan rather than a reactive decision.

“If they do bring in a coach, it must be someone with a strong profile who understands the Kaizer Chiefs project. But firing the current coaches now will not help in anything,” he said.
Kaze and Ben Youssef stepped in after the departure of Nasreddine Nabi and were tasked with keeping Chiefs within touching distance of the league leaders.
However, in the Betway Premiership, Amakhosi currently trail leaders Orlando Pirates by eight points, with the Buccaneers having played one match more.
Rapatsa believes stability, rather than another reset, is the only realistic option for Chiefs as they look toward rebuilding beyond the current campaign.
