Khanyisa Mayo says that signing with Kaizer Chiefs is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream and a proud moment for his family.
The 27-year-old striker officially joined Amakhosi on a season-long loan from Algerian side CR Belouizdad, becoming the club’s 11th signing of the campaign.
His move also continues a rare family tradition, as Mayo follows in his father’s footsteps by wearing the iconic gold and black jersey.

“The first person I called was my mother, who was sitting with my father, and they both jumped for joy and celebrated that I would be joining my father in continuing the legacy of the club,” Mayo told the club’s official website.
Mayo admits that while following a parent’s path comes with added pressure, it is a challenge he has embraced from a young age.
“The fact that he came before me adds a bit of pressure, but it’s something I grew up with, so I’m used to it,” he said.
The former Cape Town City striker is eager to contribute immediately and make an impact for the Chiefs faithful.
“My aim is for the fans to have a wonderful season with me involved in the team,” Mayo added.
