Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the immediate departure of winger Tebogo Potsane, bringing an end to his two-year tenure with the club.
The decision comes as the Soweto giants continue to reshape their squad in preparation for the upcoming season.
Potsane, who joined Amakhosi at the start of the 2023/24 season from Royal AM, had one year remaining on his contract.
However, after failing to secure a regular spot in the first team during the past season, the club and player have mutually agreed to terminate his deal.

Limited Impact Leads to Early Exit
The 31-year-old attacker found himself out of favour, evident by his exclusion from the squad that traveled for the pre-season camp in the Netherlands.
Potsane did not feature in any of the six pre-season friendly matches, solidifying his impending exit. His time at Naturena was plagued by a combination of injuries and a general lack of game time, which ultimately contributed to his departure.
Since arriving in 2023, Potsane made just 19 appearances across all competitions for the Glamour Boys, with only eight of those coming last season. Notably, he failed to score a single goal during his stint, managing only two assists.
In a statement released by the club, Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the amicable parting: “As Kaizer Chiefs continue to prepare for the upcoming season, the Club and midfielder Tebogo Potsane have parted ways amicably. We thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best in the future.”
Potsane’s Career Trajectory and Chiefs’ Ongoing Revamp
Before his move to Kaizer Chiefs, Potsane had a journeyman career, playing for Mangaung Utd, Free State Stars, Bloemfontein Celtic, and Royal AM. His next destination remains to be seen.
Potsane’s exit adds to a growing list of players who have left Kaizer Chiefs during the current transfer window as the club undergoes a significant squad overhaul.
Other notable departures include Ranga Chivaviro, Sabelo Radebe, Edmilson Dove, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, and Bongani Sam. Additionally, Yusuf Maart was sold to Austrian club RS Ried.
This series of departures underscores Kaizer Chiefs’ commitment to building a new-look team for the highly anticipated 2025/26 season.
