Mduduzi Shabalala says he’s grateful to be in Nasreddine Nabi’s plans at Kaizer Chiefs this season.
The talented 20-year-old made his senior debut for Amakhosi at the end of the 2021/22 season.
He was used sparingly early on in both the past two campaigns before finishing strongly, but this season Shabalala has already played 12 times in all competitions, contributing with four goals and two assists.
He netted a vital goal in a Man-of-the-Match performance in the 1-0 Betway Premiership win over AmaZulu on Sunday, to see his side end the year in a relatively healthy seventh place.
Shabalala said on iDiski Times: “The team has given us a role to play, everyone has his role to play.
“And I think for me, the coach always tells me that I’m young in the game but with the talent that I have I can go so far.
“So, I need to give my best and thanks to him for giving me and for always believing in me.”
Chiefs are next in action away to Cape Town City on Sunday 5 January.
