'Kaizer Chiefs' Resurgence Attributed to ...' - Jessica Motaung reveals Amakhosi Secret Behind Kaizer Chiefs' Strong PSL Start

Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung has credited the club’s passionate fans for their impressive start to the new season, stating that supporters are “voting with their feet.”

The Nedbank Cup champions have hit the ground running, winning four and drawing one of their first five matches. This incredible start places them in second on the Betway Premiership standings with 13 points, level with leaders Sekhukhune United.

This new-found success follows a productive off-season where Chiefs secured 11 new signings, including the recent acquisition of Khanyiso Mayo.

The revitalized squad has clearly captured the imagination of the fans, as seen by the recent sold-out match against Mamelodi Sundowns, which drew a crowd of over 70,000.

Motaung expressed her delight with the turnout, highlighting the incredible support even on a weeknight.

“Obviously winning adds to it and it was great to see the stadium filled at 70,000 capacity.

In fact, we had to stop selling tickets, so we were in a full house on a Wednesday night. But we’ve seen it with the team filling the stadium, playing against Sundowns, playing against [Orlando] Pirates and other teams.

“But certainly, the mood is high, and supporters are really voting with their feet and coming into the stadium and filling the stadium.”

Motaung also reaffirmed the club’s unwavering commitment to coach Nasreddine Nabi by providing him with the necessary tools to succeed.

“The team is committed to making sure that we have the best players, whatever coach we have,” stated Motaung.

“We are here to build a team that’s going to last for Kaizer Chiefs. Obviously, the coach is here to do his job. We’re giving him the tools to do the job, and we expect him to deliver.”

Next on the fixture list, Kaizer Chiefs face off against Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership. The top of the table showdown is scheduled for Tuesday, 16 September 2025, with kick-off set for 19h30 at the FNB Stadium.
