KAIZER CHIEFS’ JESSICA MOTAUNG BACKS NEW COACH NASREDDINE NABI

Kaizer Chiefs’ Jessica Motaung has urged fans to stay patient as new coach Nasreddine Nabi works to revive the club’s fortunes.

Chiefs are in desperate need of ending a humiliating nine-year trophy drought. The 2023/24 season was particularly disappointing, with the team finishing 10th in the DStv Premiership.

This poor performance has led the club to agree to Nabi’s request for his own technical team.

Nabi, a Tunisian-Belgian coach, has had an impressive track record, having won consecutive domestic trebles with Tanzanian champions Young Africans in 2022 and 2023.

However, the task faced at Naturena was unparalleled. Motaung has made a public call for patience from the Khosi Nation.

“Our message to the fans is that we, as the Kaizer Chiefs family, are working together to build a strong foundation for sustained success. You can see the efforts being made from the start,” Motaung stated.

She emphasized the importance of collective effort and patience. “Working together is crucial. It’s not just about quick results; it’s about doing the work correctly to ensure continued success.

“I believe our supporters understand this.”

Motaung also acknowledged the fans’ desire for immediate success but stressed the importance of a solid foundation. “There is a passion and a desire for success, and we all want it.

“But in life, success comes more reliably when the groundwork is properly laid. We are excited about the foundation being set for the upcoming season,” she added.

The Glamour Boys are set to face Young Africans in Bloemfontein on July 28 in the Toyota Cup, a match that will test the new direction under Nabi’s leadership.
