Kaizer Chiefs Clinch CUFA Cup in Penalty Shootout

Chiefs Thank Fans Ahead of Eastern Cape Cup

Kaizer Chiefs emerged victorious in the CUFA Cup, defeating Marumo Gallants on penalties in the final at the Bloemfontein Stadium.

The annual friendly tournament, formerly known as the Macufe Cup, is part of the Cultural Urban Festival Africa celebrations.

Despite initial uncertainty due to organizational issues, Gallants managed to resolve their differences and participate in the match. Both teams displayed an attacking style from the start, with Wandile Duba and Siyabulela Shai testing the goalkeepers early on.

An injury forced Christian off for Chiefs, but the team maintained their momentum. Ranga Chivaviro and Monde Mpambaniso had opportunities to break the deadlock for their respective sides, but the match remained scoreless after regulation time.

The decisive penalties saw Gallants miss twice, allowing Chiefs to secure the title and give new coach Nasreddine Nabi his first silverware with the club.
