Kaizer Chiefs players Gaston Sirino and Bradley Cross are doubts for the upcoming Betway Premiership fixture against Chippa United on Wednesday, after suffering injuries.
The Soweto giants travel to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha for the clash scheduled for 3 December, with kick-off set for 19:30.
Both Sirino and Cross were forced off during Chiefs’ CAF Confederation Cup encounter against Zamalek on Saturday, raising concerns about their availability.
The club confirmed that their medical department will assess the severity of the injuries in the build-up to the league match, with final decisions on their involvement expected closer to match day.
“Chiefs’ technical team will work closely with the medical staff to assess the extent of injuries to Gaston Sirino and Bradley Cross, who were both forced off within the opening 15 minutes of the Zamalek match,” the club revealed via a statement.
Chiefs enter the fixture in strong domestic form, having secured back-to-back league victories over Orbit College and Durban City.
Those results have lifted confidence within the camp as they aim for a third consecutive win to maintain their momentum and climb further up the table.
Chippa United, meanwhile, face the opposite scenario. The Eastern Cape side are enduring a difficult spell, arriving at the match winless in their last nine outings across all competitions.
Their struggles have placed increasing pressure on the squad, with the need for a morale-boosting victory becoming more urgent by the week.
