Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has signed a long-term contract to become the new head of global soccer at Red Bull, starting in January 2025.
He will oversee the strategic management of the company’s international network of clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and two Brazilian clubs.
Klopp’s appointment is a significant coup for Red Bull, who have been rapidly expanding their football operations in recent years. The German tactician, known for his high-energy style and success at Liverpool, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to the role.
Following his departure from Liverpool at the end of last season, Klopp had indicated that he was not interested in another managerial position immediately. However, his decision to join Red Bull suggests a desire to remain involved in football in a different capacity.
According to reports, it is understood that Klopp’s contract includes a clause allowing him to take over the Germany national team if the opportunity arises.
He has been linked to the role in the past and could be a potential successor to Julian Nagelsmann, whose current contract expires after the 2026 World Cup.
