Jobe Bellingham is in Germany for transfer talks with Eintracht Frankfurt, just days after helping Sunderland seal a dramatic return to the Premier League.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who played a central role in Sunderland’s promotion campaign, is drawing significant interest from the Bundesliga – with Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig all vying for his signature.
Bellingham contributed four goals and three assists in 43 appearances this season and is now weighing his next move, with a decision expected within the week.
Dortmund, where his brother Jude rose to global prominence before joining Real Madrid, have already stepped up their pursuit. According to Sky Germany, BVB managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke flew to England last weekend for face-to-face talks with Bellingham and his family, hoping to convince him to follow the same path that brought his brother European stardom.
Frankfurt, however, are currently hosting Bellingham for in-person talks as they look to position themselves as frontrunners in the race. Leipzig, known for developing young talent, remain in close contact as well.
Bellingham came through the ranks at Birmingham City, making his senior debut at just 16 before moving to Sunderland in the summer of 2023. Under Regis Le Bris, he has emerged as a composed and versatile midfielder, with a maturity beyond his years and growing interest from clubs across Europe.
If a deal is struck, Bellingham would become the latest in a wave of young English talent to make the leap to Germany – and the second in his family to embrace the Bundesliga as a proving ground.
