
New Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has signed former Stellenbosch FC centre-back Ismael Toure.
The 28-year-old Ivorian former ASEC Mimosas, Marumo Gallants and Stellenbosch centre-back was left without a club after parting ways with UAE Pro League side FC Baniyas.
Barker knows Toure well from their time at Stellies together where the player made 76 appearances, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
The Tanzanian giants confirmed the news with a post on social media.
He joins fellow new signing Nickson Kibabage at the fourth -placed team.
The last season’s CAF Confederations Cup finalists are currently sitting fourth on the log with 13 points, having won four, played 1 draw and succumbed to one defeat in their opening six league matches.
Toure is in line for his debut in Simba colours on Saturday when they take on Esperance in a CAF Champions League match. Simba are at the bottom of Group D, having lost their two opening matches against Petro de Luanda and Stade Malien, respectively.
