Italian Serie A Week 29 Preview

Juventus players celebrating

For a second consecutive week Napoli have dropped points, giving Juventus the upper hand in the title-race. Nonetheless, 10 rounds of football are sure to keep us at the edge of our seats with Scudetto contest reaching boiling point. Let’s find out what we can expect from this weekend’s action.

Saturday 17 March

Udinese 5/4

Draw 9/4

Sassuolo 23/10

(19:00)

Udinese are on the worse run of form in the league with four losses on the trot, scoring eight times and conceding just once. Sassuolo are placed 17th on the table with only goal difference separating them from the relegation zone. The Neroverdi have lost their last three travels, including a 7-0 thumping from Juventus. With both teams struggling to score goals and win games, the Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 7/10.

Spal 7/1

Draw 7/2

Juventus 4/10

(21:45)

Relegation-fighters Spal will have it all to play for when they come up against table-toppers, Juventus. The newcomers are unbeaten in their last three matches, but have been terrible on their ground this season with three wins from 13 matches. The Old Lady have been brilliant on their travels with 12 wins from 14 games. I’m expecting a cagey affair in the opening stages of the match but as the game progresses, Juve should take control and dominate. Back the reigning champions on the (-1) Handicap at 21/20.

Sunday 18 March

Sampdoria 24/10

Draw 47/20

Inter Milan 23/20

(13:30)

Sampdoria have been inconsistent in recent weeks, but have managed to win two matches on the bounce at home. Inter Milan are off the back of a hard-fought goalless draw at the San Siro against Napoli and will be looking to build on that. However, the Nerazzurri are without a win in their last five travels and that doesn’t look like improving here. La Samp are tipped on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 13/20.

Hellas Verona 52/10

Draw 31/10

Atalanta 5/10

(16:00)

Hellas Verona have been impressive of late with back-to-back wins and will be hoping to make it three wins on the spin. Atalanta are unbeaten in their last seven matches on the road, including five wins and two draws. However, Hellas Verona are on the up and will be up for the challenge with the relegation fight well underway. The sides are tipped to cancel each other out.

Benevento 29/20

Draw 9/4

Cagliari 39/20

(16:00)

Benevento are bottom of the standings with 23 losses from 27 games, scoring 18 goals and conceding six times. However, they have won three of their last four matches at home and will be looking to build on that. Cagliari have travelled poorly, but will feel they should have enough quality to see off the struggling newcomers. Benevento are playing for pride and they seem to be thriving in front of their fans in recent weeks. The home team is tipped to grind out a win.

AC Milan 7/20

Draw 36/10

Chievo 8/1

(16:00)

AC Milan have been in top form and are now unbeaten in their last nine matches with seven wins. Chievo are winless in their last 10 travels, including seven losses in a row – scoring just once and conceding 15 times. The corresponding fixture saw the Rossoneri run riot with a 4-1 victory and they are tipped to come out on top once again. AC Milan on the (-1) Handicap is tipped at even money.

Torino 23/20

Draw 47/20

Fiorentina 47/20

(16:00)

Torino have been poor in recent weeks with three consecutive losses, scoring just once and conceding three times. Fiorentina made it back-to-back 1-0 wins last time out and will be determined to maintain that form. Five of the last six meetings between the sides have produced over 2.5 goals. However, I’m more interested in both teams finding the back of the net at 7/10.

Crotone 5/1

Draw 32/10

Roma 5/10

(16:00)

Crotone are coming off an impressive 4-1 home win over Sampdoria, ending a run of five matches without a win. Roma have been in top form with five wins from their last six matches, including three wins on the spin. I’m expecting a defensive performance from the home side with counter-attacking tactics. It was a tightly contested affair in the reverse tie and this clash should be no different. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 19/20.

Napoli 2/9

Draw 47/10

Genoa 25/2

(21:45)

Napoli have fallen off the pace in recent weeks, suffering a 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Roma before playing to a goalless draw at Inter Milan last time out. This is a must-win game for the Azzurri if they are to stay in touching distance of the reigning champions. Genoa have been poor of late with two losses on the bounce. Napoli are tipped to come out firing on all cylinders and should be backed on the Half-time/Full-time win at 13/20.

Lazio 7/20

Draw 38/10

Bologna 15/2

(21:45)

Lazio are coming off a 2-2 draw away to Cagliari, but return to the Stadio Olimpico where they have won four of their last six matches. Bologna have been poor of late with back-to-back defeats and have lost their last four games on the road. A goal fest is on the cards. Get on the Totals – Over 2.5 Goals at 7/10.

TREBLE @ 46/10

AC Milan (-1) Handicap 1/1

Napoli HT-FT Win 13/20

Lazio vs Bologna Over 2.5 Goals 7/10
